A SAIL FISH OFF THE COAST OF SCOTLAND IN 1874?

A Sailfish off the coast of Scotland in 1874?

The illustration accompanying this blog can be seen in the Illustrated Police News of November 7th 1874. Sailfish are usually to be found further south than Scotland in the Atlantic in latitudes up to 50 degrees North whereas Scotland is 57.52  degrees North. I am not suggesting the fish was definitely a sail fish but judging by the illustration it was.
