DENBIGHSHIRE: “Stalked by a big cat”

Wednesday 1st September 2021

Witness describes being stalked by a big cat as he walked through St Asaph | Denbighshire …

Big cat sighting in St Asaph has been added to Puma Watch North Wales’ interactive map.

I have been studying British mystery cat sightings for about forty years. During that time I have investigated a number of cases when people claim to be attacked by a mystery cat. Although the protagonist in this sighting has not claimed to have been attacked, they have claimed that they were frightened as the beast allegedly “stalked” them.

I have no wish to upset anyone or question anybody’s veracity, but, as the mystery cats thought to exist in the United Kingdom are not known to be maneaters, and as the encounter took place in a rural area where there is seriously unlikely to have been a conflict of territory between a big cat (of whatever species) and the protagonist, I seriously doubt whether the animal was “stalking” them.
