At eight o’clock tonight UK time…..
For the past 33 years, yes that is a third of a century, the Centre for Fortean Zoology has been the English-speaking world’s foremost mystery animal research group. We have carried out expeditions all over the world, and published range of books, magazines, and journals, most of which are so commercially unsound that nobody else would’ve published them. But we have never been in it for the money. For the last 18 years, we have been running CFZtv using YouTube as a platform and releasing full length documentaries, and shorter programs like our long-running On the Track series which, together with the shorter On the Track Xtra shows, has now mounted up well over 400 episodes.
But now there is something new. A year or so ago, Dave Scott from CFZ Canada proposed what he called a Cryptozoology Round Table, where people from the CFZ, and specially-invited guests, could debate topical news items in the world of mystery animals, and take questions from a studio audience. We thought it was a jolly good idea but didn’t know how to do it.
Regular CFZ watchers have noticed that I have recently started appearing as a co-host on Vivien Powell’s Simply Spooky Show, filling in because the regular co-host, Dan Winter has been unwell. However, I have been enjoying doing these live shows very much indeed. I suddenly remembered Dave Scott’s suggestion, and asked Vivien if we could do something like this on her network. She agreed; and, at least at first, it is going to appear as part of the Simply Spooky Show, replacing the scheduled programme on the last Wednesday of every month at 8pm UK time (2p Eastern). The plan is that, once we have the show format sorted out, we shall probably change it to another day of the week and become the Last Tuesday of the Month show, or whatever. Join Jon, Viv, and the gang and as Bill Drummond said “Embrace the Contradictions”…
AND THIS MONTH:
THE LATEST NEWS FROM NESS
With guest Roland Watson. He writes: “The Loch Ness Monster has been my hobby of choice for decades since I first read about it as a kid at school. Years later, various expeditions later, many blog articles later, I have put the various folk stories, amazing stories and controversial photographs into print.

PS: Because
Samhain looms and the panel are basically incredibly juvenile, expect fancy dress from some or all…
