I discovered a tree kangaroo that had only been seen once – by the man who shot it in 1928

I want people to be excited about the animals I find and get them involved in conservation.

Michael Smith has rediscovered several animals thought to have been extinct. He found an  Telefomin cuscus during a trip to Papua New Guinea, a  Wondiwoi tree kangaroo four years ago, and in 2022 he found a Louisiade pitta bird, though these are only some of his finds.
